FLUORINE:

name: Fluorine

Symbol: F

Atomic number: 9

Atomic Weight:18.9984032

Fluorine is an extremely reactive and highly toxic

gaseous element. In very small amounts, it is also a trace

element necessary for the health of most organisms,

although the line between enough and too much is very fine.

Uses Of Fluorine:

Fluorine doesn't have many uses because it is very reactive.

It is used in the production of uranium, for plasma etching,s7s.jpg

and indirectly to produce halons like freon.Fluorine and fluorine compounds

are extremely toxic and pure fluorine is

hard to obtain because it is so dangerous. Fluorine compounds (fluorides)

are available and are used in some water supplies,

some antibiotics and dental products.

Who Discovered Fluorine: mad_scientist.gif

In 1886 a chemist by the name of Henri Moissan discovered the hydrogen

fluorine and in 1771 the element of fluorine was discovered by Karl Scheele.
